TYGART
& BIG SANDY RIVERS
Each of these trips offers a unique opportunity to raft on rivers
that few get to experience. Both trips include lunch and a free
wetsuit rental. Contact our reservation staff for more details on
booking trips on these rivers. Their waterlevels depend very much
on the whims of Mother Nature. West Virginia springtime weather
is usually when these rivers are at their peak, but they can be
running anytime we have steady rainfall.
All
of our trips are fully guided and include lunch.
The Big Sandy
The
Big Sandy is steep technical run that includes two waterfalls, the
first of which we only run at appropriate water levels. The character
of this stream is very steep drops and very little flat water between

The
Tygart River
The
Tygart Gorge is steeper than the Cheat Canyon and bigger than the
Sandy. It offers big drops and exciting rapids such as "Hard
Tongue Falls" and "Shoulder Snapper," plus the bonus
of rarely encountering anyone else on the river.
